Stanford's Succulent Garden
A large Prickly Pear cactus. These are common and sometimes raised commercially for their sweet fruits the size of pears, which form on the fringes of the bluegreen ears. Not only are the pears delicious, but the young pads are edible and called nopalitos when fried-up.
