PeaceWalk1989 , , , , , , , , Russian hospitality has its rules, so Anatoli and Natasha leave me their bed while they sleep on the couch and the kitchen floor. Both spoke some English and we got along well. They went to offices daily while I wandered in Moscow. We corresponded for several years after, then lost contact. Their son joined the Army, and last I heard had been sent to Georgia. .... While here, I learned of two major events: 1. A large earthquake in California did heavy damage to the Bay Bridge and other nearby places, but none of my loved ones were affected. 2. The Berlin Wall was being torn down, and the Soviet Union was in the process of collapsing!!
